Orson and Valentine, as part of the Brighton Fringe 2011

Photos taken by Olivia Morgan.
A puppet play and Brighton Festival Fringe Event written and directed by Daisy Jordan, produced by Jake Spicer.

"Orson and Valentine" is a puppet play based on a french medieval folk tale, using hand-crafted table-top and shadow puppets to recount in miniature the captivating story of infant twin brothers abandoned in the woods. Whilst one brother is adopted and brought up in aristocracy, the other is raised by wild bears.
Orson and Valentine grow up in very different worlds; unaware of each other's existence, until the day of Prince Valentine's first bear hunt...

Performed to an original score of live music, this is a dark tale of brotherhood and estrangement, betrayal and love, and the struggle between nature and civilisation.

"The Beast and The Blonde"

In October 2010 I produced and directed a puppet play called "The Beast and the Blonde", wherein a young orang-utan falls in love and begins her journey of self-discovery and sexual awakening.
It was performed in Bom-Bane's cafe. Music composed and performed live by Thomas Newman. Puppeteers: Daisy Jordan, Robert White, Olivia Morgan and Christopher Murphy. Set by O. Morgan, Sophie Saunders and D. Jordan
Costumes by Sarah Walpole and Kerrie Curzon.
